to go slow: if u are in 1st gear then keep the revs up real high.

to go fast: keep the bike in 3rd gear preferably while keeping the revs up. 3rd gear is good since its somewhat torquey and safe since it's torquier than gears 4,5 or 6 of course.

lol get a 450R and the gears wont matter just keep the rpm's up. JK bro, I'm a whimp so i prefer to enter them in 1'st and then accelerate through em. For me i can get going up those steep hills plenty fast enough in 1st LOL

I think the key to attacking any hill is momentum, and like the others said, monitoring revs, and then selecting the correct gearing.

Body positioning is important too, slide back for more traction, move forward to steer the bike.

It also depends on what the hill is made of. It is really rocky then I would go a little slower, too much speed will cause you to bounce when you impact rocks or other hard surfaces. It is sand or really soft.... I would ride it like I stole it! Have fun and be safe.

Momentum is the key. Stay in control. Anticipate the moment when your momentum will fall off and add power before you stall.
