CRF230F Handling

My wife likes the 230, but admires the handling of my 250X. Anything that might be done to the 230 that would make it a 'crisper' handling bike?
Any ideas about making it lighter? It is a tad less than nimble in a sand wash compared to the 250X. I understand it's the nature of the bike to be more 'fuddy'.
