You can't use the CR125 shock because there is no room for the reservoir.

Your best bet if you don't already own that CR125 rear shock is get a Works Rear Shock. Everyone that put one on a hopped up 230 said they loved it and if they had to do it over they would buy it again.

So if you don't have the 125 shock already don't get it. Get the "Works". It's pricey, I think $400 but if you feel you really need a new shock that is the way to go.

On the forks, are you sure the 125 forks fit???
I thought only the 85 forks could be fit due to:
Rake
Bottom Triple Clamp Converison being available

Please do tell, lots of people would like this info now and in the future as they read this.

Forks for a 230. I just installed a set of 1989 RM 250 forks on mine and the everything lined up great. bearings are the same as the 230's so no machine work needs to be done just have to raise forks up in top clamp.

Krisrtch,

KYB or Showa?

Did you use Honda Triple clamps or Suzuki.
Were axle and caliper mountings the same?

Need to do something with mine sooner or later.

I used the Suzuki clamps. and brakes. My forks came with the caliper and wheel just had to order the wheel spacers from suzuki. cost about 27 dollars US. If you can get your hands a on dennis kirk catalog and look at the steering stem bearings for the 230 and the 89 rm 250 they are the same bearings. I just got my wheel spacers in yesterday taking it out for it's maiden voyage with new forks tonight. I'll let you know how it does. from reading the Suzuki manual they are KYB's
I got mine off of ebay for 81 dollars wheel was pretty true just had to tighten 6 spokes brake were in great shape. and forks also no leaks or scoring. Just have to shove the forks all the way up in the clamps to level the bike out.
