Regular size throttle tube on 230f

I did a search and couldn't find an answer so here goes. I want to put regular grips on my wife's 230f but the throttle tube is a half inch shorter than a regular one. I have barkbusters on so I could just cut the grip, but she is complaining that her hand rests on the edge of the bark buster so I was thinking, if i could get a regular throttle tube from like a 450X i would have the problem solved. Does any one know if any regular size fits? According to my measuring, a regular grip is 5 inches and the 230's grip is 4 1/2.
Thanks

I have two 230's an 03 and 05, I have never had an issue when changing grips. Have you had this bike since new.I think some one may have cut the throttle tube down, maybe for the bark busters or narrower bars.

Mine takes the normal size grip too.

Thinking that someone hacked the throttle tube when the bark busters were installed. They use full sized grips even when just the end cap is removed for barkbuster installation.

The OEM part # is 53140-KPS-901 and is about $8.00. A simple replacement and will get your bars organized again. Like a previous poster, I believe that someone may have cut it down for bars that were not as wide as the stocker (to make everything fit).

I have had it since brand new. It is an 07 and when I took it off, I just dremeled out the end hole big enough for the bark busters, so no length was taken off. I have measured it off and like I mentioned it is 1/2 inch shorter than my KTM, and my friends 07 450X. I will figure something out.
Thanks guys, maybe I am crazy after all!

Mine is an 06 bought new from the dealer and I had the same problem. I had to sorta scrunch up the end on the throttle side.

Does yours have an extra lip near the housing that the stock grip covered? I cut that off to get the grip close to the housing.

I will take a look at that, I haven't actually taken the grips off yet.
