I'm in dire need of a upgrade to my suspension. Can anyone help me out? I have been debating for the rear to either go with a new complete works shock or go with the bbr spring. Which would honestly be better? I'm 210 lbs. and tired of the thing bottoming out.

Now to the front. how are the bbr springs for the front and if I get them about how much shock oil do I need to add?

350-375 cc to each fork leg. Pick your fluid weight by your use. If your handy, a set of Race Tech emulators and RSW fork brace make a big difference and get the best out of the stock forks.

My experience tells me that the addition of the BBR spring is a band-aid at best. The stock shock has alot of rebound and is not ajustable. The heavy springs makes the significant rebound worse and can cause some nasty crashes in multiple rebounding situations.

My best advice is to go directly to the Works shock and never look back. If that scenario is too expensive, send the stocker to Hlebo Brothers and have it revalved and set-up for the heavier spring. You will get a better set-up (and safer) but you will still have a non-adjustable shock for around $200.00.

I run the Works rear shock after trying BBR HD spring. I also suggest spending the money on the Works product. Up front 5 wt oil stock height BBR springs and Summers racing fork brace. Much improved but still not enough fork for the bike/rider weight. I am currently checking into 250x fork conversion.

The RSW is a great product and very cost effective. great guy to deal with and prompt service.

Any local shop should be able to hook you up with the emulators or see your local Race Tech distributor.

Just bought a set of rm 250 forks off ebay that says the triple clamps have been machined for the 230 I 'll keep ya'll update on how this works out. What is a good fork oil WT to run in these I'm 210 lbs. any help would be appreciated.

Are they RM250 USD forks? What year? If so, I am mocking up a set of twin chamber 47mm Showas up as we speak. The overwhelming thought (from the small group of people who have done this) is that the MX forks are too harsh and require a revalve because you don't use enough of the travel. Mine will require a 1 1/2" deduction to balance the bike front to rear also.

I say mock them up and ride them. If they are in fact too harsh, send them out to be revalved. You will get the complete set-up, have any parts needed to be replaced, and fresh fluid.

BTW, my opinion on the rear spring is one of personal experience. The stock unadjustable shock with a heavy spring is a rebound nightmare.

BTW; that was the first of 2 surgeries to correct the massive damage. Luckily, I was wearing great protective gear (full protection racing leathers with kevlar armor and an EVS collar) or I may not be typing or walking.

I like the 150/230 personally, just no more band-aid fixes for me. I wanted a modern suspended XR250R and I am building it for fun and experience with my son. A fun project and a teaching tool also.

Well heck for 81 dollars can't go to wrong. It is coming with a wheel axle both clamps bearings. All brake componets and the guy even offered to help me with the install.

I'm not gonna throw them on until I have the Works Performance shock to balance out the bike. Which will mid next month. I'll keep ya'll updated on how they do.
