head shake

hey guys
i am having a problem with my crf230f when travelling at high speeds hitting little bumbs the front end goes all out of control please help.

Stevo,

Check your wheel bearings and Stem/head bearings.
Also check for loose bolts/nuts in front end.

If you haven't greased your Stem/head bearings it maybe time to do this whilst you are checking.

Let us know what you find.

I assume your tyre has at least 15PSI and your spokes are firm.

This can also happen if you have messed around with your geometry, like installing a lowering link (Kouba), etc.

In my case, when I lowered my 250X, I had head shake in the top end of 4th and all of 5th gear. I solved it by changing both my front and rear sprockets, thus widening the stance slightly.

If you have a lowering link fitted you can also move the forks up through the triple clamps a little 5-10mm to give the forks the right rake again.

KRCRFs - good idea about increasing the wheelbase to help change the angles back.

mine did the same thing one time and all I did was just spray some lube spray on there frequently and it has not happened to me again.
