Power up kit is a must have for any 230 owner.

My local dealership had never heard of one ?

My sons 230 runs great with quite few mods and a

quick story . I had an aftermarket silencer on it

off an XR200R and thought it ran better but after building a different silencer core for the stock one I have to take that back.

Now it runs terrific , great torque and hits the rev limiter in a heart beat.

I used a 9'' piece of 1 1/8 ID aluminum pipe and drilled it with alot of holes and wrapped in glass / steel wool and then wrapped with mechanics wire. Nice sound and good power ,, especially for a stock 9-1 motor.

This final core insert I made was after a dozen
other designs that didn't really work good.

No , I don't think my only design is the hot ticket , it takes some R & D .

With the bike totally uncorked , I'm running a 45 / 135 jetting . Engine is in top shape with virtually no blow by so the plug is a slight tan at the midsection of the porcelin center electrode.

Installing a 11:1 piston this winter and will start with a 138 main and go up from there.

Most people who comment their plug being black is not from fuel but from some oil blowing by the rings.

I wanted a little more bottom end so I installed a 7/8" x 1 1/2" spacer on the inlet side of the silencer core , still hits the rev limiter easily.
