The number you gave me didn't work at ServiceHonda, substitute MT2 in for KPT and it came up at 16.52.

Damn, they must be on to us!!! They still list the 45 under the KPT number at $ 5.57.

The hot ticket is the 48, so naturally the price goes up...

I turned the fuel screw in, it had to be more than two turns. I backed it out two turns and can't get it to start at all. I had to stop working on it tonight, I will try to turn it out some more tomorrow to see if I can get any fire, although I think I read that you can only turn it out 2-1/2 turns max, anyway.

I'm getting there, but not quite yet. I thought I'd try to fiddle with the screw first. As soon as I get a couple minutes to take carb apart, i will. Do you have to take the whole bottom of the carb off, or just the large hex head fitting that looks like it fits in the bottom?

I had the screw backed out about 2-1/2 turns, and I thought that I had read that was the max, but I turned it another 1/2 turn and now it is starting, fairly easy. I might try another 1/8th or so to see if it will smooth out the idle a little more.

2 1/2 turns is the safe distance to back it out. If it runs better as you back it out beyond that then the pilot jet is too small. Beyond 2 1/2 turns there isn't enough threads or spring pressure remaining to secure the screw from moving on it's own.

A fairly easy way to try and clean the carb if its just sat a while is to take the boot off of the back of the carb (somewhere not dusty) start the bike and rev it up and while reving put your hand on the carb and it might suck whatever is stopping it up through. dont hold your your hand on the carb long enough to let it die and keep on doing that. I have'nt done that to my 230 because i hav'nt had it long but my 4-wheeler done the same think after i spent 15 months in Iraq. also you could take out your main jet and look at it it could be stopped up with something. (putting your hand on the carb and choking it should get it). it's the easiest thing to look at all instructions you need are on http://www.rickramsey.net/ its a really good site for the 230. Hope this helps ya.
