ive had these for the past 3 years and never had a problem. maybe you just have no idea how to ride and eat sh!t too often!!!!! i think these are great! and you dont have to spend all the money on the cages..make some! i got some real tight woven "expanded" metal from home depot, cut it to size, make some simple brackets and riveted them on. all for under $40. now your all set with GOOD braces, and guards. =]
The braces are nice but would have like to seen them made out of thicker aluminum, don't know how much of an impact they can really take and am not interested in finding out ! they should be better than stock as nothing on the radiators is a BAD thing The fit was OK but had to bend my left radiator a bit to get holes to line up , no fault of Works connection , I tossed it on the left side in a mud hole the week b4 Hoping these will take care of that ! Also of note I would have gone for the 5 star rating if the left brace wasn't in the way of switching to reserve on the petcock .this should prove interesting trying to switch to reserve while riding on the trail !
nice fit ,nice design, you can never have to much protection on a 450X, as the rad. are fairly large
Installing took a little more time than I would have liked. Not everything lined up 'perfect'. Had a pair on a KTM 450EXC and they worked fine on that bike; however, didn't taste any trees with them either.
Was surprised that "Works Connection" would make such a crucial component so weak. The fit was nice and it is better than nothing at all (or stock), but for an extra $20.00, buy the "Flatland" or "Devol" guards / braces and you will be much happier, plus you get frontal protection. I bought the Flatlands and will be giving my "Works" to a friend (Like I said, better protection than none at all).
I installed these on my son's bike. The first time he went down, he totally blitzed the right side brace and plastic, and the radiator got bent backwards. It wasn't that big of a crash (or so he tells me), so I'm a little disappointed, although to be fair, the radiator is still functional. I'm looking for something a little stronger for his next crash.
