I spent a little time thinking about how I wanted to mount my Vapor so I thought I would share. I ditched the OEM odometer, and capped the wheel sensor cable inlet with the rubber provided by TT. I should mention that I first loaded up the inside of the sensor with white lithium grease, and that once the cap is on, it is on. You can get it back off, but it probably will not seal as well the second time around.

I wanted to use the original mount location if possible, and also wanted to have 12v from the battery but did not want the draw when the bike was not being used. To make this happen, I made a bracket that would allow me to use cap screws from the bottom of the stock mount. I also elected to put in a switch, and a separate light to let me know the switch was on. Sure, you can buy switches that light up, but they were all a bit bigger and the light would be in an odd spot. I went to Napa for the switch and light.

Other than what was mentioned, the install was pretty much they way TT says to do it. First photo is the underside of the new mounting plate. Note the hole needed to get to the reset button (almost forgot that one).

If you buy a Vapor new or have problems with your water temp not working, this may be of help...

When new, try not to touch any buttons until you have the water sensor plugged in. Trail Tech said the version of software that I have has a bug that requires a full reset if you activate the unit before the sensor is hooked up. After that did not work, they came back and said it will not register any temp until after the water hits 100 degrees, which turns out to be true.
