    Arizona Ride!

    by RLPII » Mon Oct 10, 2011 9:40 pm

Well, I was finally able to get out for a ride this past Friday.....it has been since at least February since I last rode - I think - so I headed out to the Boulders to see just how rusty I had become. Took it real easy, nothing tough at all......it was great to get back out and surprising how well the Fo Fiddy ran just by changing out the gas and charging the battery! I am pretty rusty and still need to build up the strength and stamina but I had a blast and can hardly wait for my next ride!

I saw several CRF's out there.....any body from here?

Hey Mr. RLPII, you bet it's nice riding weather !
We made it through another one.
Were you out at MM11.5 when you refer to the "boulders" ? I have never made it out there yet.

I'm the same "rusty" condition - we should get together for a ride.

Hey Neil, yes, MM 11.5 = the Boulders.....not a bad place to ride during the week - gets really busy on the weekends "in season".... lots of ATV's, kids, and of course motorcycles!
The Pima Barlett Loop looks interesting too. Have you seen this website: http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trai ... a_list.htm
Be happy to ride - do you ever have time during the week? I am newly "Pre-Retired" so when I say I am rusty......well, you get the idea :-k :) But if your expectations are not too high, it would be great to have someone to ride with! What part of town do you live in?
PM me if you still want to ride......

I live at Pima & Dynamite. I ride the P&D state land area quite a bit. It's right out the back door. I have not rode the bike down to Bartlett. I go up there with the Prowler & take the dog to dink around. One of my favorite areas in AZ !
If you mean "Pre-retired" as in a n old fart - I'm there with ya....

    What do you ride Neil?
Any days better than others for you? I wouldn't mind trying to ride over in your area some time? I am free most weekdays in the mornings....let me know what works for you.

Hey Bob, I ride a '06 450X that is street legal plated.
I still a working stiff so it's pretty much w/e's for me.
Always wanted to do the Crown King run & MM11.5 area. Some of the ST in the Prescott area is also on the lists.
I'm game for just about anywhere. Saturday mornings works best for me for the most part. Once in the while I take a vacation day just to go ride.

    Hey Neil - PM sent.

Mine is strictly off highway.....not plated at all, so I trailer it to the trails.

Anyway, sent you a PM......let me know what you think

Hi & welcome. www.ridingarizona.com is a great site with a really good trails guide section. The Crown King ride is really popular and RA has lots of info. posted. You might even be able to hook up with others doing the same ride.

    Hope that helps,
    Neil

Be careful on that trail, I have heard that it is VERY busy - especially on the weekends with lots of ATVs and Jeeps and there are sections that have severe drop offs. So take it easy and have a safe trip!

I know this is short notice, but I am planning on riding on Wednesday (11.09.11).....I have never tried the Pima-Bartlett Loop ( http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trai ... s_e5a2.htm ) and would like to see what it is like. I am hoping to be there about 10:00 AM and drive a white Toyota 4WD with a gray trailer.
Let me know if you would like to ride? If I have to cancel for any reason, I will post it here....
