04crf, Make sure you lower your front tire pressure, run a paddle and have a great time. Do be careful of the idiots though. Good tip for afterwards, Take your bike apart and clean, and lube everything. Wheel bearings, swingarm, shock, you name it. I know it sounds like a pain, but trust me it's worth it. Ernie

Buttercup is in the Imperial Sand Dunes, north of Interstate 8, east of El Centro and West of Yuma.

    AKA: Glamis.

South of the 8 fwy is referred to as Gordons Well. We used to ride there with 250R three wheelers and have alot of fun, rode all the way into Mexico via the dunes. Kinda cool, they have these big white cement pillars out in the middle of the dunes to mark the border. We also rode right into Algodones Mexico, a small border town with some cold cervezas.

Corral Canyon OHV park is located off Hwy 8 also, near the town of Campo. Take the Buckman Springs exit off the 8 fwy. The Horse Fire is burning there right now, so it might be tough to get there for a couple of weeks. This is a good area for 4 wheelers and bikes, although it is very technical and rocky. The views are beautiful of Lake Morena though. You can actually camp and fish a the Morena campground. Corral Canyon is about and hour outside of the city, from Del Mar you are probably looking at about 1.5 to 2 hours drive time. I have friends that live in Campo (just east and south of Corral Canyon), and from Fallbrook it takes us 3 hours to get there.

Good luck! Why are you sellin your 450??

Selling our CRF250X. I prefer riding the KDX220. We're going to try out the area off of 94 by Barratt Junction tomorrow. (If it's not over 90f) Hard to find a place to ride nearby in the summer here.
