    CRF110F (2016) + Keihin KLX110 (2015) Carb + Cable??

    Hi guys,

I'm looking to get my lads CRF110F a little more punch, and have bought the PB18 carb, and 8 KLX Throttle Cable (2015), and a backup Chinese KLX110 throttle Assembly with cable as backup.

I've tried all combos of the above and none hook up and allow the slide to full seat in the carb! :(

has anyone else dome a similar mod? if so what did you do about the the Throttle Cable? I dont want to drop another £x on an OEM KLX110 throttle assembly, just to find it still doesnt hook up with the carb properly

    cheers

ok, think I've wrapped my head around this one now...

I just need to reduce the throttle cable sheath by 20mm to give it enough movement on the Carb slider.

looks like some careful work with a dremel should do it.

Exactly. I have made zillions of cables over the years. If you are going to do it without pulling the cable out of the casing slide a layer of protection into the casing to protect from cutting while using a orbital cutting disc. If you do melt the lead end off you can make a mold with plaster paris. I use a combination of lead and pewter for making my cable ends.

Take your time and you will get it.

ace, cheers for the backup of "you're not doing something stupid" :)

took my time, pulled the end cap off the sheath, left the cable in situ.

carefully dremmeled off the required amount from the sheath, and then worked my way down the spiral cable protector taking a link of at a time.

I only needed 20mm so all done within the hour, then re-seated the end cap and no need to remould a stopper back on the cable.
